Pros
-I've found that there's great culture between engineers. I've always gotten the support and collaboration I needed when working with the people in my team. There's a willingness to help others out when you needed assistance on tasks or projects. -I've also got support from a immediate manager when balancing multiple projects. We've smarty used the resources in our department to deliver our work in a timely manner -The product itself is very unique. I feel fortunate to say I worked at this Company on a head turning product. -Unlimited PTO was nice so I could take vacation whenever I wanted. My manager never said no to vacation as long as we found someone to take my work.
Cons
-During my time I saw a lot of bureaucratic work piled on to the normal engineering work. TPMs put more on engineers plate to show status of the open tasks to share to leadership. I wish there was more support from these mid level managers to help engineers complete their work. -Too much work given with no real clarity on the scope. Tasks became assigned because they came from upper management but no real explanation as to what the priority was or why it was needed -Lots of lack of alignment on certain topics. Multiple meetings to determine what the priority should be. I felt like I had to make a case for every time something got assigned to me that was not urgent.
