Pros

Great people, nice offices, lots of smart people to learn from, flexible work environment. Good base salary and benefits (shares etc, o/s training etc).

Cons

Extremely unrealistic targets handed down from head office in Germany means that no one in region is on target throughout the year which drives desperate / bad behaviour from management who are trying to keep their jobs. They don't care about customer outcomes, only closing deals to drive revenue. Unfortunately, this means that they have few referencable customers which negatively effects future sales processes. High level of arduous internal processes takes you away from customer facing activities. Poor internal systems. CRM is poor. 50% gate on Comms. Only expect to hit OTE one in every 3 or 4 years. Excessive forecast meetings due to poor use of bad CRM

Pros

The people at SAP are genuinely nice, and the culture is generally supportive. The work-life balance is good to an extent, but when you're busy, you're BUSY. SAP is highly complex so expect to take a year to ramp up.

Cons

Only way to get a high salary is if you're hired externally. They do not reward employees who are loyal to the company. Closed opportunities often have to go through the Compensation Exception Committee, creating uncertainty around earnings. Prepare for constant change, whether that's solutions being removed from your sales bag, account shifts, territory realignments, or changing compensation policies. Quotas can be difficult to attain
