Pros

Good work life balance and benefits. Not much pressure from management for hitting sales targets and pretty lenient (may vary with manager, of course).

Cons

Sage Software is not a true technology company. They essentially acquire other software companies and re-brand as their own and manage the product line. No real changes to those products, but increase renewals by a substantial amount each year. It's 2015 and they're barely adapting to the SaaS business model which their only real cloud based product that's relevant is built by Salesforce. It is told to the employees quota is based off last FY's number +10% which is not the case. Some months you don't even get your quota until two weeks into the current sales month. Working in a net new division, you would think there would be a lot of collaboration with marketing which was not the case and in fact, very disconnected. Their mentality is, if I'm an executive, I don't speak with sales reps, only their managers. Sage's leadership team has no direction and reality to what the market is demanding. A lot of the business initiatives in the Sage 50 group were changes on the fly without much thought. A lot of the management also don't have a clue how to be competitive in the small business market space. They're only focused around the numbers and showing a growth whether or not it is in an ethical way with absolutely no business plans or road map. Politics is also a big issue within the Sage 50 organization. There is a lot of favoritism and even unprofessionalism within the Sage 50 business unit.

Pros

Work life balance is the strongest attribute at Sage. Family matters and mental stablity is supported. Top notch benefits.

Cons

Departments with mixed roles of similar tasks, yet separate teams without collaboration.

Pros

was hired as remote and get to have that honored, but have been openly told no career progression because of remote status. decent pay

Cons

Leadership instability: Seven manager changes during my relatively short tenure. Unrealistic targets: A sales quota set at 1,100% growth (not a typo). Slow product development: Getting anything actioned on the product side takes far too long. Product management turnover: Three product manager changes, resulting in no meaningful deliverables in over three years. Misaligned hiring priorities: Greater emphasis on DEI optics than on hiring people positioned to drive growth. Internal vs. customer focus: More energy spent on internal events than on product enhancements. Lack of accountability (the biggest issue): No one takes ownership. Responsibility gets passed around constantly — for example, client cancellations going unprocessed because they impact someone's numbers. Managers have openly encouraged pushing the work onto someone else rather than handling it.
