Cons
There's no way to sugar coat this - this is by far the worst company culture I've ever experienced in my career. Decisions made by executives and management are wishy washy and undecisive at best, and there's so much burecratic red tape stemming from their Toronto office that it makes career growth/learning and development almost impossible. Despite these roadblocks, the real issue I experienced is the toxic people in these leadership roles. I had a supervisor towards the end of my tenure that told me I was "fruity" for watching reruns of Law and Order with my spouse. I witnessed a trader go on a racist tirade to another employee over the NBA's decision to allow players and teams to support "Black Lives Matter" during their games. In fact, most of the trading floor is a very inclusive, openly anti-liberal environment, with certain desks going as far as building makeshift shrines to conservative political figures and ideals. I raised my concerns with HR and the Head of GWO on my way out but from what I can gather they were mostly ignored. The Head of GWO seemed more interested in pointing out that I had only given two weeks notice instead of a month (I had no direct reports in my role and was told by my aforementioned supervisor that I was "not an SME but a junior" on a consistent basis since I joined their team).
