Pros
ability to make your own schedule, a lot of vacation time if you've worked there awhile, free coffee, and beverages while you work
Cons
promotions often come by way of "who's friends with the regional director", even though there may be other candidates that are far more qualified. absolutely no focus on work-life balance, and if an hourly employee calls in, you are almost always expected to work their shift if you cannot find a replacement. company has a huge misunderstanding of what the difference is between "salary" and "on-call". pay for hourly employees is a few cents above minimum wage, and the amount of of work we expect them to do for the money that we pay them is ridiculous. there isn't a lot you can do at the store manager level to control this, yet you are held to a tight turnover goal. the store manager pay is also awful for the amount of work that we are expected to do-you are an hourly employee for 32 out of 40 hours of the week, working alongside everyone else, just like an hourly barista would, yet you are expected to do absolutely everything from an operational standpoint(scheduling, performance reviews, ordering, admin tasks, plans to drive sales, action plans for this this and that, etc) in a mere 8 hours per week.
