Pros
The pros of this company is the benefits for health insurance, stocks and education are very good. Maybe for a college student it could be a good job for a couple years at most. The fellow employees are good coworkers for the most part and compensation is decent especially in a higher volume store.
Cons
The opportunity for career advancement is a scam. They will say they have career advancement programs, mentorships, or job openings in several areas but the problems only arise when you attempt to move up to another role. In my time with T-Mobile, I have done their advancement programs, completed stretch assignments and have worked with a few mentors in different roles. Everyone always is positive and motivating when you are striving to advance your career so I can’t fault the individual people but when it comes to getting a chance after applying for a role, it is almost nonexistent. Several times for an assistant manager position, they would just move existing asst. managers from other areas when the headcount in that area changed or they would post a job opening with the choice already decided. There are so many examples of this kind of thing I can give it is endless. The main problem I have with it all is that they keep giving you hope that something might happen but as soon as it gets close they swipe the rug from under you. Mentally and emotionally draining to work for.
