Pros
- You get to work with some really talented and compassionate people. - Fairly laid back (Everyone wears jeans + T-Mobile swag at the office). - Hybrid model, with some roles offering fully remote - Compensation is very generous compared to other companies in the North Texas area - You get tons of free swag. A ridiculous amount actually (I'm literally running out of drawer+closet space because of it) - A very fun and energetic culture.
Cons
- Can be difficult to get promoted due to how teams and projects are funded. For example, we have an Associate Software Engineer on our team who has been working well above his pay grade for 2+ years now. EVERYONE, including his manager, has been trying to get him promoted to the standard SE role. He gets shoutouts constantly, highlighted in corporate news letters, and even accepted an award at an in-person event last year -but he can't get promoted to SE because there isn't an extra FTE role available on our team. Its been this way for 2 years, and I'll be surprised if he sticks around for 3. It's ridiculous.
