      Pros

      There is a lot of camaraderie amongst the engineers. Most clients are great to work with.

      Cons

      Management does not know how projects are handled. They only look at numbers from the computer. Everyone is treated like a pawn. Engineering Managers have responsibility for profit and loss and some of those Engineering Managers are transferred in from other departments and have no idea of the nature of the industry they are responsible for. She would go into the department and the business suffers, losing customers. In addition, she would make fun of clients while on conference calls as if they were wasting her time. There is no respect. I would not recommend.

      Pros

      - The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

      Cons

      - Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.
