Pros

Peers within the labs are amazing.

Cons

Where do I start? Zero flexibility, low pay, "mandatory OT," growth only comes from people leaving so everyone can all compete for that one open position but company hires out instead, less than a 3% raise per year. The list goes on and on. The worst part of this company is the management. Management pretends to be for the workers, but literally only protects company interests. The turnover rate for this job is ~2yrs. There is zero work life balance and people in higher positions purposely don't train you for job security.

Pros

The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.

Cons

It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
