Pros
- Interesting work - Managers and Directors and VPs listen and take your opinions on board
Cons
-Hard to know who to contact for HR issues. -Insultingly low pay compared to market for what you do. -having been in the business for several years always a challenge to know who the HR business partner is. - internal role changes involves several months of double hatting and eventually burning out. -HR department do no not communicate enough to make us aware of policy changes. - overheads cost cutting leading to over worked staff -in Global office shortage of seats mean you have to come in extremely early to get a seat with your team. HR is not concerned about such issues. -HR negotiating unreasonably low salaries on promotion to the point where people are leaving the business. -HR changes policies without informing anyone and expects employees to be updated with policies around maternity/ paternity/ global mobility and relocation. -slow process to get recruitment sorted out in the team to the point that the recruitment is having to be done offline. -better HR systems need for HR to carry out their job to keeping the organisational chart updated in the system costs are all over the place in wrong departments.
