Pros
Great benefits; Competitive pay; profit sharing (up to 3% of base pay); annual bonus (target of 20% of pay base in my position); work from home options; mostly great people in middle and lower management and individual contributors.
Cons
Senior Leadership is struggling big; very low morale across my organization; no clear direction (we are given a "direction" during town halls and various meeting, but in reality we didn't work toward that direction at all. It was more fire drills and requests from executives to do "this or that" and do it by yesterday. There was a tremendous amount of throw away work from 2016-2018. Projects that were deemed of upmost importance get axed after months of work- because of no clear direction from Senior Leadership. They constantly bring up the Credo and our Core Values- its reguritated all the time- but unless they practice what they preach, the Credo is meaningless...and as of when I left VZW, it was 100% meaningless. Note that this is based on last 3 years or so. Prior to that VZW was a very good company to work for. Any complaints I had back then are nothing compared it how it is now.
