Laying off pregnant employees - Anonymous employee World Vision International Employee Review

Recently they have decided not to extend contract to one of the female employees because she was 7 months pregnant. Her position was not redundant, and her performance was very good. Also, management is making very poor decisions. When restructuring most od the many management positions are kept, while field or support functions are cut, even if they cost much less. WV does not need so many managers. Many poorly educated people are granted with managerial positions, especially those who tend to mobb and harrass their colleagues and their subordinates. This is all happening in WV Bosnia office.
