Pros
Some wonderfully kind, talented and humble colleagues to work with.
Cons
- Unrealistic fundraising expectations. Low hanging fruit and quick wins are a myth in Strategic Partnerships. It takes time and nerves of steel. - Awful HR team (bar one or two individuals). The worst I’ve encountered in my career. -An over reliance on fundraising consultants/trainers, delivering the same cut and paste training they’ve been delivering for years and it’s not very good. Please listen to the fundraisers you have; they do actually know their stuff. - Impatient and poor decision making by some senior leaders. No one likes a micromanager. - A tendency to use scripture and prayer in a manner that can be perceived as spiritually toxic. Please stop using scripture and prayer to justify poor decisions. It’s unkind and very unchristian. -Brand presence is low, making it hard to raise awareness of the charity and attract potential funders.
