Pros
Truely global project delivery systems that are applied identically in all offices around the world. Aussie type attitude of "give it a go" - don't get bogged down in history, so there is always some innovation (as long as risk is defined and managed). Well based on fundamentals of engineering and project delivery. Great training ground on large complex projects. Safety, safety, safety. Strong ethical business practice environment. Corners are not cut and risks are not taken. Some very smart people and technologies in the Company.
Cons
Quick to hire and fire; as a project based company, when a project is over, don't expect to be held on to unless the next job is in the wings. Nothing really different to other consulting firms. Since the departure of John Grill theyhave been through several restructurings, and after trying themselves in other engineering areas, the company has regressed back to a hydrocarbons / large processing industry firm. So if you are interested in smaller jobs where you are not just a cog, suggest you look elsewhere. In particular Power and Infrastructure focus has totally gone. As with any large listed company the internal procedures have slowly grown into something that tends to take the initiative away from individuals. Not a bad thing, but you need to expect everything will take a bit longer than you would expect.
