Worst leadership you could possibly imagine. Undercover discrimination is a normal thing at this company. - Anonymous employee Zillow Employee Review

Pros

The Representatives that I worked with were some of the best people I have ever worked with. Too bad Zillow did not look at those team members as being good enough to even being considered for a promotion.

Cons

So many. So so many. So so so many! Most Important (To Me): Zillow Discriminates Against US Veterans. If you are a US Veteran be ready for a fight for what you have daily cause someone WILL make your life hard. Not If, When.

Without knowing more about the circumstances, I cannot provide an entirely helpful response so I invite you to reach out to me at crystalt@zillowgroup.com so I can understand more about your experience. It goes without saying that discrimination of any kind goes against our core values and expectations of our leaders, full stop. What I can tell you is that we have a strong Veteran's Employee Network with more than 440 employees who are both Veterans and allies. We also partner with organizations like Military Mojo to help source military candidates and currently have Veterans employed at all levels within Zillow. This is a continued focus of ours both to support Veterans as well as military spouses.

Pros

You can make good money here.

Cons

In sales, job can change often. For example: I was making good money and excelling because I am a relationship Sales person. Then they changed it to where you get the sale, and instead of being able to grow that account via that relationship you just broke into, you have to pass it to an account manager and go back to cold/robo calling. You "book" of business you recive to prospect from is a lottery. I received a book of prospects/accounts that most of the were low income, or senior living properties. They don't have a budget and have a line of renter on a waitlist. No way to convince them to spend money on advertising but you still have the same quota.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed perspective. We understand that frequent changes to roles, account ownership and business priorities can have a real impact on relationship-building and the day-to-day experience in sales. We’re glad to hear compensation was a positive part of your time at Zillow, and we appreciate you being candid about where the model and structure felt frustrating. Feedback like yours helps us better understand how these changes are experienced across teams as the business evolves.
