Pros
"Fun and friendly place to work where teamwork rules," is actually a core value that is true. Team comradery is usually pretty good in the offices. The job developes many important skills when it comes to dealing with people, sales and marketing. Promotion opportunities are there for people who sell well.
Cons
Promotions are ONLY available to people who have high sales numbers. Fortunately, some of those people happen to be good in other aspects of the business. I saw many better-qualified people get passed up for promotion for people who were not great employees but had a high percentage of sales of the protection products. Insider definition of a Counter Dodger: an employee who finds ways to avoid working with repeat customers who they know don't buy the insurance, so that the employee can avoid a negative hit to their sales statistic number (which is a number that shows the number of sales made as a percentage of the number of customers an employee had). No commission for sales, just the carrot of selling well to get you promoted after a couple years.
