Pros

"Fun and friendly place to work where teamwork rules," is actually a core value that is true. Team comradery is usually pretty good in the offices. The job developes many important skills when it comes to dealing with people, sales and marketing. Promotion opportunities are there for people who sell well.

Cons

Promotions are ONLY available to people who have high sales numbers. Fortunately, some of those people happen to be good in other aspects of the business. I saw many better-qualified people get passed up for promotion for people who were not great employees but had a high percentage of sales of the protection products. Insider definition of a Counter Dodger: an employee who finds ways to avoid working with repeat customers who they know don't buy the insurance, so that the employee can avoid a negative hit to their sales statistic number (which is a number that shows the number of sales made as a percentage of the number of customers an employee had). No commission for sales, just the carrot of selling well to get you promoted after a couple years.

Pros

My co-workers and supervisors were really nice and supportive of teaching you. I liked working there because the people I interacted with. IT department is great there. The system we used to maintain customer accounts are pretty accurate. Email out discounts for their employees constantly ($10 flu shots, free tickets to museums, discounted car rentals, etc).

Cons

Admin is located in a separate office for each department. They don't support a higher level of learning. For example, my supervisor told me they don't reimburse education and you don't need a CPA or MBA to work in accounting because they use their own private accounting system.

Pros

Great training that can be beneficial in finding other jobs; Opportunities to network with many different people in an array of different industries

Cons

Overworked/Underpaid; Promotions are based on personal relationships with management instead of performance; Management does not follow through with promised bonuses and commission increases when goals are met; Company does not lead by their mission statement
