      Pros

      Remote positions allowed a great deal of flexibility with scheduling, especially in regards to customer interactions. As long as the requirements of the transaction were met, you had a lot of leeway for delivery times.

      Cons

      You have to be a self starter with a lot of self discipline. Not a lot of people looking over your shoulder to micromanage.

      Work/life balance only benefits senior employees

      Pros

      Job security. The majority of the employees working in my department had been with the company for ten years or more. The least senior person was had been there for seven years while I was employed there.

      Cons

      Antiquated and slow processes. It shouldn't take a year to learn an application. Limited growth potential. While there is job security, if your vast knowledge in one department doesn't facilitate growth or lateral movements around the company, then what's the point.
