Okay, but ..

Pros

- Known name, probably good in resume - Career development is possible, but not for everybody. If you develop good relationships there, you can go far - Stable job and definitely not the most challenging place to work, easy to just go with the flow

Cons

- Company culture is different in every team, so if you are lucky, you'll have a good team - It is good to be a manager - if you are not good or will not succeed, they will still try to keep you with tooth and nail, even if the team is not happy - Processes are in place but there are a lot of aspects that have not been thought of

It's ok, until they need to make quarterly numbers.

Pros

Co-workers were great. Pay was decent. Benefits were inlne with industry standard.

Cons

Ericsson (specifically their US business units) lays people off to get a quarterly boost. Every quarter. They specifically target folks that are either out on parental leave or vacation for lay offs. After all, if your not there for a week or 2, you must not be important to the company. Then once they realize they need the role, they hire someone in India for pennies, and work them 70 hours a week.

Lack of common sense

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, no rush or crunch

Cons

Lack of common sense, like documenting how the code works or creating a good onboarding material or creating a usable test environment or not to push failing tests onto master. For the past months we made countless assumptions on how other microservices work, because there were no documentation, knowledge only travels by word of mouth. And we have to work from the office 3 days/week.
