Good benefits, poor communication

Pros

Offers one of the best benefits packages in the area. On site fitness center and cafeteria. Decent place to work if you have a good manager and don't mind working long hours. Opportunities for advancement available if you know the right person. Most managers have an open door policy and have occasional get togethers after work (dinner, happy hours).

Cons

Constant reorganizations resulting in an inconsistent workplace. Untimely or lack of communication on some policies and procedures, of which many are vaguely written. Poor salary increases. Company has become too cost obsessive due to acquisitions and maintaining market share resulting in constant fear of lay-offs.

Pros

Good work culture, supportive staff, scope of growth, learning opportunities, decent salary, global feel etc.

Cons

Sometime you can feel that you are doing very specific work which is just a part of the whole thing. Its because there are so many processes which are followed. but its true that to manage such a huge company, these processes are mandatory requirements.

Pros

There seems to be a wealth of training material available but I am working too much to be able to take advantage of it. Ericsson places greater value upon education than real world experience so it is a good place for recent college graduates.

Cons

There is enormous pressure on managers to utilize the workforce 100%+. However, there is little respect for these hard working people in the field. On call is mandatory and when you are on call you DO get called - alot. The workforce management system sees to that. Work is delivered via your smartphone and you never know what you're going to get. Often tasks are beyond the ability of the technician as no training is offered and the system does not take individual skill sets into account. "A tech is a tech" is a term I hear quite often. We were recently "absorbed" by Ericsson from a large U.S. telecom carrier so my views may swing more negative than most.
