Pros

FDM fills you with a lot of confidence and makes you believe the world is your oyster, until it's time to deliver .... then you receive nothing but excuses and get messed around with. If you are someone with no specific career ambitions, have not achieved greatly in your degree or have no other place to turn to, this is the perfect place for you.

Cons

FDM do not deliver! They take advantage of graduates in tough situations by giving false promises and tie you into a contract! They send you off to places around the UK where it is easier to get a job anyways; so not actually doing you any favours or doing anything you cannot do yourself. I would recommend having FDM as a very last resort and even if you get offered a place at FDM, in the mean time, please apply to other jobs and try get something better. By better I mean a company who doesn't mess you around, make you wait for months and cancel the course you were meant to attend. I am unable to understand how a company can be successful and be untrustworthy, unorganised, unfair and unpredictable.

Grad Scheme

Pros

The training is very good and they accept applicants from all backgrounds. There are opportunities to work for great cliens all over the world.

Cons

Pay is low compared to other grad schemes and training is completely unpaid, with some training lasting more than 3 months. If you complete training and are not placed you're forced to sit around the office unpaid until you are placed. Also you don't have as much control over your career as they make out you're pretty much forced to follow orders.

Pros

The only positive about joining FDM Group is that you learn how to avoid dodgy companies like this in the future.

Cons

One of the lowest salaries in the market with a very funny raise in the second year. FDM is renting you to other companies as sub-contractors, FDM gets loads of money because of your work and you get pennies. For your managers and the company you are only money producing units nothing more, they will never hear your concerns. In terms of benefits they give the bare minimum. Only pension. And this is because the government has made this mandatory. Training provided is very minimal. Many of the trainers are not very knowledgable. I you have a MSc expect to know more than your trainers.
