Pros

Great trainers who are willing to help Account managers trying to find you a job - remember for FDM to make money you have to get placed and so it’s in their best interest to get you placed I got placed at a good company in my 3rd week Without FDM I wouldn’t be working in IT

Cons

You might not get placed - if so you would have wasted a large amount of your time. In my time at FDM this happened to 1 person I knew and FDM offered them employment with FDM but they decided to leave If there is a period of time between your sign-off and placement start date you still may have to come in everyday to basically show face . A lot of the training for my course was online and I didn’t see why we weren’t able to work from home because for like 4 weeks I was - in essence - just going in to use the WiFi, which for that matter is less reliable than the internet I have at home. The course is only as good as the trainers and quiet a few of the trainers simply didn’t seem that bothered on the other hand some were really nice and really wanted to help you succeed The biggest con is you don’t get paid throughout the training but you knew that when you signed up. Pay is not amazing for the sector however if you haven’t been able to get a job through the usual methods it’s a great opportunity to get your foot in the door, just know what you’re getting in to

Pros

- Great stepping stone into IT - Great experience gained working on client site - Company has grown a lot over the years with more opportunities with clients

Cons

The con's mentioned by other people will suffice. The areas of improvement should by now be known. Having said this It's important to understand experience from one individual to another with vary based on various factors i.e role, personal situation, client they work for etc. Some people have had great experiences others people have had not so great but it's all subjective. To prospective graduates/ Employees i would say understand the business modal and the way the organisation operates.

FDM Group Response

Thank you for your feedback and I’m pleased to hear you are gaining some great experience. Your advice to prospective candidates is something I completely agree with and we spend a lot of time during the assessment process explaining our business model and the opportunities available to people who join us. We absolutely seek to create an environment that is accommodating and we do everything we can to support our people. As you will know our consultants work on site with our clients, therefore, they are required to adjust to the specific client environment. In many cases this does include flexible working hours and working from home, but it does depend on the project or specific delivery requirements of the client. I would welcome the chance to discuss this with you further, please contact me at Andy.Brown@fdmgroup.com
