      Pros

      Good job for people who need a morning or afternoon/early evening part time position. Pay is very good. Shifts go by quick.

      Cons

      Learning curve is steep but manageable. If you mess up, you'll get an earful but there is leniency. Managers tend to not explain how much work is coming through and then 'panic' when things are not getting done on time.

      Pros

      Pays weekly and a raise every year until 3rd year top out plus cost of living raise each year. Home every night and off weekends. Over time pay on daily bases.

      Cons

      Management can be a real pain.

      Pros

      Straight forward work. You're moving freight with a forklift up and down the dock into trailers. Working the dock is an entry point into the company. With time and effort you can make it up the ladder so long as you stay on top of yourself and can stay organized.

      Cons

      The downsides to working this position are the hours you get as a part timer and exposure to the fine dock dust that comes from the forklift tires wearing on cement.
