Sucks to be new

Pros

The pay is good for being new and the benefits are pretty good. It's a good way to get into LTL or driving in general. The company gets equipment fixed quickly and there are generally enough trucks that you don't have to worry about being short on rigs.

Cons

You're told you will work full-time all year and then winter hits. Suddenly you aren't getting 40 hours (sometimes no where near it) and the line-haul runs get lean. Depending on your dispatch supervisor you may or may not get runs you are supposed to get which cuts into your paycheck. You don't actually get 10 hours off or decent sleep most nights because you have to call in to your supervisor to find out if and when you are working.

Cons

its part-time,there are no full time loaders, forklifts don't always work, not enough tools for workers to use yet they have to come up with inventive ways to keep shipments safe
