Pros

Life work balance and the company does put their employees first and treats them very well all around, which makes it hard to leave.

Cons

Slow to adopt new technologies, silo'd organizations that make if very difficult to complete projects in a timely manner. FedEx works with a tight, older and regulated set of "approved" software toolset and technologies which limits its own projects potential. The employee average age is around 45 which is most likely why the company is in this state of moving like an iceberg. Most employees have settled in for the long haul to retirement and don't have much motivation to innovate and make quick changes on the IT side of the company. If there is such a thing, they are treated too well and trouble employees can not be let go with out a year or more of HR hoops.

Pros

Health insurance and 401K, other employees for the most part are good to work with. Pretty good bonuses, but it isn't worth it when you consider your health.

Cons

They squeeze as much work out of an employee as they can, not caring how much pressure they put on people. They say they care about the employee, but all they really care about is the bottom line. They want your life, not just 8 hours a day.

Pros

Pay is decent. If they like you they are flexable with your schedule...if they like you.

Cons

The Service center manager in North Salt Lake has a quota that each supervisor have one employee write up each day. If a supervisor claims they did not see a policy violation during they day, they are nicely told they must not being doing their job correctly. The service center manager has scheduled two mandatory staff meetings with his supervisors this year, the first was on Easter saturday, the second is on the saturday of the forth of July weekend. Senior management would rather write employees up than reward them. Morale is extremely low amonst lower management and the dock workers.
