Pros

I only work part time, I think is it ok because I need the extra money. I like the people I work with but again that will depend on your store.

Cons

If you get this job, get ready to deal with a lot of customers and most of them are angry. People come to fedex office because they have a problem with their printer at home or because they are trying to accomplish a project that "they don't know what kind of paper they want, they don't know what color they want" how can you help someone that they don't know what they want. So basically you deal with customers that aren't happy to start with and they think we are super experience and don't forget we take their order (they don't like that) they want it right away. In short this is a RETAIL store so all the cons of retail.

Pros

I gained a lot of experience in how to communicate with clients who don't understand computers or have the vocabulary to express their needs for printing or graphics, so I learned how to lead them and ask the right questions to find out exactly what they need, and FedEx Office's training (which is very good) gives an excellent grounding in how to do this.

Cons

The combination of fast digital printing and express shipping means that your job at FedEx Office is to fix it when other people have failed to do their job. And if it isn't possible to fix it, or if the customer comes in not understanding that 24-hour turn-around is expensive, they will get pissed off and take it out on the person behind the counter. There are some very nice people who come in to the store, but the rude, aggressive, unreasonable people are much, much louder, and it is easier for a single event to create a 'bad day' than to create a 'good day'.

Pros

Great for students because you can use the downtime to do schoolwork or read. Paid vacation hours.

Cons

The entire company is "black and white". Management is very weak and not informative at all. They will point you in a different direction when asking for help. When applying, the info packet stresses that FedEx prides itself on providing room for opportunity, but this is far from true. The way the compensation is set up, you are paid just enough to survive, but not little enough to leave (being that starting pay is 30% higher than minimum wage). Don't expect to move up into management in your store, they only accept transfers from other stores/states. Scheduling changes every week.
