Pros

The corporate office of FedEx Office employs many truly dedicated team members who often go above and beyond to try to make the business successful.

Cons

Unfortunately, the core quick copying/printing industry has largely moved from a mature industry to one in decline. The company constantly struggles to find the next product or service to make up for this loss, but almost always without success. To make a difficult situation even more tenuous, senior management has a track record of of rushing to market products and services that aren't quite ready for either customers to buy or the store team members to provide. So even those products and services that had a decent chance of being successful often fall short due to the rush to market.

Pros

Great place to work while in school. Some stores are low key, others have draconian managers. Your experience will really depend on your particular store's manager. Management will jump at the opportunity to "write you up." The environment, as a result, wasn't always the best.

Cons

I felt there was little room for advancement (but I wasn't interested in advancing anyway). Management made very clear the budget crunch FedEx was experiencing, and my hours were cut as a result.

Pros

It's a highly technical environment that allows you to learn a cool trade. Management is usually very flexible with time off requests. Pay is decent for a college student. Company feels strongly about promoting from within, whether it may be in store or at the corporate office. Co-workers are always fun and there is always a tenured member to help out with the dozens of complicated services we offer.

Cons

STRESS!!!!! Crappy shifts. Often, the store will be extremely understaffed to take on the type of customers we attract (typical customer interactions can last anywhere from 5-45 mins.) Customers get angry when they have to wait but most of them do not understand our process and services. People come to Kinko's with an idea and we have to turn that idea into a reality.....time after time. This is not the standard retail store. There are no "cashiers". Another problem with the company is that they try to do too much. From FedEx shipping to direct mail to signs and graphics, its just too much. Alot of times, team members have no clue as to how to do certain tasks because 1. they only come once in a blue moon and 2. the training on our services suck. It's really easy to get overwhelmed by the workload, especially when you're clueless AND understaffed.
