Pros

Great benefits, medical, and company culture. 401K match, and where else can you get a Portable Pension Account? Most places after you leave your pension is gone. The people and management are outstanding from the front lines up to upper management.

Cons

There's been a few times that negative news has not trickled down as fast as I would have liked it to.

Pros

Like others have said, work life balance: they are very down to earth and understanding with reasonable requests. Pay is pretty good for what we do. Management generally treats you as equal. No babysitting. Benefits are great. Opportunity to transfer just about anywhere if you so desire. Well organized: Unlike other employers, I generally feel very informed on where I stand with Vacation, benefits, etc. Take a day off and you will have it off, no games, no "lost paperwork." Generally a pretty laid back work environment, they do a good job of spreading out tasks and responsibilities to prevent it from becoming a pressure cooker - which it could easily become considering the intense focus on time management. Company seems intent on hiring employees for long term and keeping them happy.

Cons

It's a giant bureaucracy. Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. I have probably signed my name on paper or via a computer several thousands of times. Sometimes they are so focused on "numbers," they don't see the big picture when it comes to efficiency and customer service: In continuation of that... there is a complete conflict with the push for efficiency and customer service. If I am waiting several minutes for a customer I am not being efficient, but if I don't wait I am providing poor customer service. There needs to be less tunnel vision, and a more practical approach for stuff like that. the way it stands now, your "numbers" are hurt by providing good customer service. Like any bureaucracy, change comes at a snail pace. The computer system is a relic of the 70s/80s for the most part.
