Pros

Flexibility - Fedex is very casual and laid back. Unless you work in dot-com or other critial business areas you'll work 40 hours or less a week.

Cons

Politics, micromanagement, meetings - it depends on which area you work but getting ahead at FedEx is about who you know and who you network with at FedEx. The secret to getting ahead at FedEx is to make it your life, bleed orange and purple, be on your blackberry 24/7/365 to your mgrs. Excessive reporting on your activities. Each month I have 2 meetings with my director on project updates, monthly dashboard updates, weekly timekeeping and weekly project meetings. Anything less and you'll be branded a "cowboy" or not a team player. More time is spent on how you do things vs. getting the work done.

Pros

The majority of management has caring attitude toward employees. Provides strong feeling of support for individual success.

Cons

Career ops are lacking in non-Memphis location. Career progression is limited if you are unwilling to relocate.

Pros

Pension eligible after 3 years, 14 working days off, unlimited sick days, great "brand", free range on inet use at the office, nobody monitors you, like to do a lot of out of office events, get interline travel benefits, corporate perks, great discounts pretty much everywhere you can think of

Cons

promotions are so hard to come by unless you are willing to relocate after working in inside sales for 18 months, working in inside sales for 18 months until you can look for field sales jobs sucks, and then its up to the manager to help you out which doesnt help out at all!!!
