Pros

Shift went quickly High starting pay initially with raises after 3, 6, and 12 months (Started at $14.95/hour) Worked with some of the best people with the best character in my life Opportunities for extra hours

Cons

Shift Hours (Started at 3:30/3:45 Tuesday-Saturday) Workload always unpredictable (load counts/packages per truck changed daily) Unpredictable employee peer attendance directly affected your job daily IMPOSSIBLE to get promoted unless you work part time as a package handler for 6-7 years. The company posts jobs on their internal career site, JUST TO POST THEM. Usually they already have been grooming a candidate for 1-2 years for that position (management, linehaul, HR, supervisor, etc.) So once the job opens, even if you apply for it, you WON'T get an interview. You won't even get a phone call. For a package handler, there is no hiring standard. They will hire anyone with a pulse. For this level of work and its intensity, there should be a standard.

Pros

-High base salary, especially if you stay with company and promote to senior sales executive. -Job Security -Brand Recognition -If you are willing to relocate there are many options for promotions -Home office, set your own schedule (to an extent)

Cons

-Daily/weekly face to face call requirement is ridiculous (6/day; 30/week) -More "customer service" than sales; too much admin work -Bonus is based on overall territory performance, not a lot of control as a rep on shipping needs of customers. If customer business needs change and they don't need to ship as much, rep is negatively affected. -Lots of internal issue with accounts being misaligned to wrong rep, this benefits some, and detrimental to others in terms of territory goal attainment and bonuses paid. -You can work really hard and not get paid, or you can not work hard and get paid, seems like a coin flip at times. -For the amount of work you do, the compensation (bonuses) really isn't that great.

Pros

Great benefits if you can work enough hours but management makes sure you don't work enough to get your benefits.

Cons

Management sucks, very pro white privilege. If your black or Latino they will hold you down and promote the weaker white dude.
