Pros

Good benifits. 401k. Pension. Non Union. Medical, Dental, Vision available. Most employees great people. They just want to do their job and go home to family.

Cons

Pay increases should be on performance not years of service. How well you are treated comes down to your manager. Some senior managers are abusive and will use a willing manager to make all of the employees lives miserable and no one above will help if the numbers are good. Yes. They knew.

It pays the bills

Pros

Like the title says, it pays the bills.

Cons

1. Stagnant pay...people working here for 5+ yrs make the same as someone newly hired. 2. Receding health benefits 3. Constant negative reinforcement in the workplace. 4. Upward mobility is generally only attainable if your willing to relocate. 5. Unsafe equipment that's only improved after someone is seriously injured, and unrealistic/unattainable goals push people to work in unsafe ways and cut corners. 6. Favoritism is rampant, If your the flavor of the week that's great, but keep in mind next week you more than likely wont be, so you better have a law degree or watch a lot of CSI to help you out and always CYA.

Pay unfairness at FedEx

Pros

Good solid company, with benefits. Company provides great service to its customers. No layoff policy.

Cons

I have been working at FedEx for 22 years. When I first started the company provided very good compensation to its employees. Frequent pay raises, pro-pay, profit sharing, low cost, high quality healthcare benefits. However, for the past 10 or so years, they have gotten away from their core philosophies of People-Service-Profits, or PSP. It is now the other way around, where Profit comes first and People last. Year over year they have lowered the amounts of our raises, increased the premiums of their healthcare (blaming it on Obamacare), decreased overtime hours. Which translates to a lower paycheck year over year. This is a perfect example of the disparity of the wages between the middle class and the rich. While their compensation has steadily increased year over year, ours have stagnated or decreased. We are the front line employees, who through our hard work and dedication are the backbone of this company, we are FedEx!
