Pros

Large company with option of moving to a different group to gain career. Different groups are often like different companies; therefore, having the ability to move between groups is a good way to boost your career. Good compensation structure - historically anyway.

Cons

Very political and bureaucratic. Titles are very inconsistent across business units, meaning a VP in one unit is a director in another. Accountability at the senior levels is weak. Due to frequent re-orgs a senior business leader is often moved to a new area and therefore is not in a position to own the impact of the changes they make.

Pros

Balancing work and personal life is important at Fidelity; working more than 50 hours per week is rare, and it seems like 40 is the norm. Meanwhile, the health and benefits are great, the 401(K) and profit sharing are top notch, and the monthly employee recognition program is a nice way to relax with your coworkers.

Cons

Internal advancment is slow, especially at the mid and lower levels.
