Pros

Large company with may different opportunities. Fidelity has its hand in so many areas of business that you could do pretty much anything.

Cons

There is no clear actionable vision from senior management. Many outsiders have come into very senior level positions and haven't lasted too long. There have also been some very high profile departures from the firm. This has caused a general sense of uncertainty about the vision and direction the company is heading towards in the future.

Pros

They take care of the employees. Great training. Laid back environment at branches. There is a lot of training. I traveled to california and texas to get the right training i needed for my job. It was far better than just having someone teach me in the branch.

Cons

They are quick to let employees go. There are a lot of people willing to work for less so they have a revolving door of employees. The branches push contests quite frequently. You may be urged to sell something in order to meet some sort of goal, even though it might not be right for the customer.

Pros

Overall, very solid company with great benefits, opportunities for promotion. Fidelity has multiple locations so there is potential to move around. You can get in contact with the top easier than you'd think for a large corporation. The old saying was you never get rich while at Fidelity, but because you worked there you will be rich. I think this is true because of the incentive programs between annual bonus opportunities which can be a substantial amount of your income, phantom share program that pay out every two years and their profit sharing that was their year in and out.

Cons

I thought that Fidelity got a little too big and struggled to find out how to structure itself to succeed. It seemed like we would go through 3-4 organizational alignments each year. It's not that it's bad, but they never seem to be able to stay the course with their decisions. It really depended upon who was leading the charge. Current senior management is more about the bottom line as oppose to prior leadership. Prior leadership still looked at growth opportunities and current leadership wants to maintain and not necessary grow the business unless it is an EXACT fit or match.
