A Sinking Ship

Pros

Remote-first, unlimited PTO, decent benefits, the team I was on was great

Cons

- Incompetent, reckless leadership and rampant sexism. - Company ignores constructive feedback - Some teams there are very unprofessional or just flat out don't do their job - High turnover, people fired as retaliation for speaking out, layoffs with a pathetic severance - Poor financial standing, company is NOT profitable - Too many people in roles they are not qualified to be in - Any culture that was there quickly evaporated and it's all hands on deck to frantically try to recoup months of losses - Previous CEO was a sexist, narcissist (probably why they replaced him with a female CEO :eyerollemoji:) and most of those working directly under him were sycophants (the smart leaders quickly jumped ship) who let him run the business into the ground

Once a good company, now a disappointment

Pros

-100% fully remote work -Unlimited vacation

Cons

-Very poor leadership -Complete lack of understanding of their own product at multiple stakeholder levels -Commitment to priorities that have proven several times over to be failures. -Imvestment company and leadership take advantage of employees who care about customers and their co-workers. Prior to becoming Foreground, both ShootProof and Collage were better companies culturally, financially, and in pretty much any possible way you could imagine. The merger of the two companies into Foreground came with bullheaded commitment to projects and concepts that don't align with users and customers of either brand. Foreground is a cheap imitation of what both brands once were, and both customers and employees are worse off because of it. There is no soul left. What remains is desperate, misguided attempt at clawing back to profitability for the sake of the investment company. An attempt that will be unsuccessful because of their inexplicable commitment to poor quality leadership and initiatives.

Pros

Incredible team with lots of kind people.

Cons

When you work for Foreground you're actually working for five different brands. They don't segment out their brand teams at all. This gets pretty messy, especially in the customer service, customer success, and marketing departments where a lot of the (new) leadership is totally unqualified. My boss had zero understanding of what I actually did, and 90% of my time working under them was wasted. When I first started working with them I felt valued. By the time I left, I felt like they didn't even know who I was or what I did. They've hired a bunch of executives who seem cool but ultimately just want everything to be super corporate. It went from good to awful really fast once they were acquired in 2019.
