Pros

-Very good, strong people culture and worl/life balance. May be related to weak HR function (see later) as many policies not enforced to benefit of workers (e.g. dress code is smart casual but partners and others in shorts in summer) -Tax team has some intetesting clients and works well rest business largely -I have seen little politics so far -Supportive of exam joiners. Emphasis on logging off for studying at end work day when exams are coming up -Supportive of lateral moves to other teams. Team leads willing to worktomake this happen. -fairly good benefit package incl holiday buy of up to 15 days and 2 days a year to volunteer -diversity initiatives (esp related to gender) have high visibility. Junior staff seem to reflect this in hiring but unclear as to impact at high strata.

Cons

-lot of quibbling over how bonuses are handed out (part profit share, part performance). Management needs to commit and stop equivocating as impossible please everyone on this. -Poor HR; team hr rep is useless and more concerned with appearing helpful. -Technology is improving but still poor. Recognised as an issue with steps being taken to improve this though. -Increased financial pressure recently in tax team. Leading to push for more fees and recovery. Not helped by inflation busting charge out rate increases. Despite this firm trumpets positive results in a tone deaf manner. Potentially related to upcoming netwirk firmation with Forvis. -Tight on social budgets and expenses. -pay seems sluggish versus competitors and inflation. Especially when hourly rates are increasing so. -overfocus on Gallup surveys. Means lots of talking about results but less action. Means we have high scores in areas focused on talking about development but lower in areas related to achieving it -increasing attempt to get staff in office despite no space, no booking system and office about to crowd more with some Forvis UK arrivals. Unsustainable and poor case as to why necessary with office issues. -Not necessarily a negative but subteams have changed often recently which makes hard to establish consistency. Happy with current area though and colleagues feel same.
