Pros
- Good opportunities to take ownership and 'step up', more so than at larger consulting firms - Many nice people with strong backgrounds (e.g. Big 4) - Close working with Partners, lots of exposure - Very good work-life balance for consulting
Cons
- Poor brand for consulting - Too much focus on utilisation & profits at the expense of people - Very limited pipeline of work - the few projects available are either in the middle of nowhere, or uninteresting work - Pay below market rates (no bonus) - Emphasis on 'cross-skilling' into less interesting areas - No clear strategy for the team - Very high staff turnover - Toxic culture, stemming from leadership politics
