      Pros

      - Junior staff and certain Partners in Insurance are amazing to work with. - Dont care about work life balance - but people leave at 5 15 on the dot

      Cons

      - French domination in London within risk management team leading to favoritism to french speaking individuals - Toxic politics lead to low performers being booked on to good projects - Senior staff unwilling to teach/ train associates which defeats purpose - No respect for the career direction you as an individual want to take

      Pros

      Good work is rewarded. If you can show that you are handle the work load they will give you the opportunity to take on more significant roles. Partners are very involved and even as a first year staff they made sure we knew our input on the engagements was important. Also, the opportunity to work on such a large variety of clients is a plus. They let you try different industries to see what fits for you.

      Cons

      Hours. Engagements bleed over into the next much more than wrap up and review, often more time is spent on a job when you are not scheduled on it than when you were.

      Toxic culture leading to high turnover (Consulting)

      - Good opportunities to take ownership and 'step up', more so than at larger consulting firms - Many nice people with strong backgrounds (e.g. Big 4) - Close working with Partners, lots of exposure - Very good work-life balance for consulting

      Cons

      - Poor brand for consulting - Too much focus on utilisation & profits at the expense of people - Very limited pipeline of work - the few projects available are either in the middle of nowhere, or uninteresting work - Pay below market rates (no bonus) - Emphasis on 'cross-skilling' into less interesting areas - No clear strategy for the team - Very high staff turnover - Toxic culture, stemming from leadership politics
