Pros

The Pros is that the pay is good for entry level individuals like myself. Also, the hours fit with my schedule and the bonus was that I could work from home.

Cons

I was switched from sales to tech support training class because the reason giving was that the sales training class was to full and they needed to move people around. I thought that they training class would be centered on the technical aspect of the job. However, needless to say, the training was centered on sales. So, I was not prepared to do this job to the best of my abilities. When offered additional training and I accepted. They quickly responded back with that they were not allowed to do this. Then, my current manager decided to just go ahead and send me an end of employment letter stating that I chose not to be employed with this company. Which, is bogus and she should be fired for that.

Pros

20 hours a week was good-oh, and did I mention that the tea was very good?

Cons

I worked here on the First Utility campaign on the Newcastle site as a part-time agent, and it proved to be a hard-going experience. Sitel are very unprofessional, the pay is poor-I was on a miserly £7.00 an hour-and the office is poorly organised. The training was inadequate-barely over a week for a difficult job involving such things as meter readings and troubleshooting-and having to learn a million different systems. When I asked for additional help, the management didn't care less, and things finally came to a head when I requested a customer callback for an escalation, not knowing that that wasn't quite their procedure, and I ended up getting a roasting the following evening about not calling the customer back (when I DID), and they were basically getting ready to fire me (probation review, knew what they meant by that), so I handed my notice in there and then. Think twice about joining this company. The management are hypocrites, the supervisors are brownnosers and the training is completely unacceptable. Avoid if you're looking for an employer who actually cares about you.

Pros

Training opportunities and a lot of new jobs advertised. If you apply for a job and you're not successful after the interview, you get some feedback which is good to improve yourself.

Cons

The cons vary a lot between the different campaigns, markets and positions. For a customer service advisor position in all campaigns, you will be a slave of their timekeeping system where you have to punch in and out 8 times a day. Every single minute late is counted and your toilet time is also monitored. Sometimes, you will have an awkward conversation with your manager to explain while you exceeded your toilet time which is very humiliating. The salary is low regarding the skills they request and the unsociable working hours as some campaigns are open 24/7. It also happens very frequently to have last minutes changes on your schedule, the planning is rarely shared in advance which could be annoying for the work / life balance. They also have very restrictive policies: a dress code although customers can't see you as you work on the phone or via email, use of mobile phones only allowed in a very small canteen overcrowded at lunch times, internet use restricted on your computer which could be annoying to do your job sometimes. In case you need anything, be very patient. It can take a few weeks to get a new notepad or to have your computer fixed as there only 3 ITs on site for more than 500 employees.
