Pros

It is a paycheck, and the benefits are respectable.

Cons

- Overwhelming preference to hire Mandarin-speaking Chinese, or just Chinese in general, leading into: - Overwhelming preference to speak Mandarin, meaning you will be completely left out of the workplace social circle, and even if you do speak Mandarin, you may not be Chinese enough to be included - Being left out of work conversations in Mandarin where you can volunteer ideas and work to advance your career - Foxconn is chasing a hefty tax incentive where they must hire X amount of employees even if the work isn't there, so MANY people here simply pretend to be busy while being bored out of their minds - Foxconn has close ties to the PRC government, and uses public apps monitored by the PRC government, meaning R&D conducted in the U.S. may very well fall into the hands of the CCP

Pros

Regular unplanned overtime and mandatory weekends make up for the low pay.

Cons

Staffed with work release thugs that don't know the difference between the workplace and jail. The real criminals are in management; some have been arrested by the FBI.

Pros

Good place to learn hands-on about manufacturing and consumer electronics Plenty of opportunities for business travel (almost exclusively to China, see Con) Top CM in the world, good exposure to clients (Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.) and building professional network

Cons

Big-company bureaucracy often counter-productive, wears out people Frequent travel to industrial cities in China not everyone's cup of tea Depends on business unit/team, compensation might fall below expectation
