Pros

- Access to work in great projects, with top-class clients. - Networking is very easy across the globe, within the firm. - Overall positive, cheerful tone from top-down.

Cons

- Practice what you preach is not applicable in Gensler: a lot of talk and research about workplace, yet still enforcing old-school onsite working. A lot of talk about diversity and inclusion, yet the salary imparity is unbelievable; A lot of talk pushing the employees to be good administrators of the firm's resources, and then you have.... mmm.. individuals,... spending ludicrous amounts on first-class traveling, and expensive dinners. - Your growth in the company is subject to being liked, loud and a "yes, sir" kind of person. If you question the status-quo, you will probably stay in your same spot for a long time. In general, you will stop believing in what they say real soon; They catch you with their sweet words and a promise of huge growth opportunities. Soon you realize it's all part of a corporate machinery where empty, sweet words are just to keep the machine going.

Pros

You'll love the people you work with. They are truly experts and dedicated to their craft, but also not too intense with workload compared to other design firms. Good projects & work-life balance.

Cons

Perhaps too much focus on productivity metrics / timesheets. Super cost-conscious to the point it makes staff second guess everything they do that is outside of a billable hour, almost like a law-firm. Then again, perhaps this is why they are more profitable than other design firms.
