At the core of what makes Gensler such a great organization is its people. Everyone is passionate about their work and it is manifest in the care taken to accomplish that work each and every day, regardless of the role, project, or task.

Cons

For first time employees, it takes a while to get to know dimensions of the firm.

Stressful Job But Worth The End Result

Pros

You get to work on high-profile, buzzworthy projects. You get respect for working there, basically people outside of Gensler respect it because they know how hard it is. So it helps you down the line when you need to search for other jobs.

Cons

So stressful, almost zero work-life balance, low pay for a junior designer, you had to be fully billable for 40 hours a week which is impossible due the weekly extracurricular mandatory group meetings, and very competitive environment. I actually experienced two co-workers throw me under the bus to our boss on a project where they actually dropped the ball. Not my favorite job.
