Pros

Challenging work. Great ambition and expectations in results.

Cons

This dysfunctional department during my tenure went through 2 upper management changes. While direct manager was trying to give good advice within his own transparency of the upper management, however the upper managers were not engineering centric while they were managing technology projects. The results seemed reflection of the disorganized upper management and lack of technical aim and direction. So it would not be realistic to push one's software engineering career under a team of 'project managers' without enough technical background or vision to lead the teams; thus lost staff and stuck in their career...

Pros

The firm overall really does work hard to ensure employees have the resources they need to be successful. From personal wellness classes, multiple corporate perks, and affinity networks to the robust 360 degree reviews and comprehensive training materials and professional skills classes. For self-motivated individuals, you will learn a tremendous amount from working here.

Cons

Despite structured frameworks to promote a positive, healthy culture, there are many managers who circumvent these parameters. For example, despite 360 degree feedback, upper management still dictates the year-end performance review. At the end of the day, there is still a very strong undercurrent of politics despite the claim to be a meritocracy. This distracts from people doing real work and rewards people who spend more time self-promoting.

Pros

Made some money, bought a good car and a apartment. In the begining I was very excited about the culture and thought I would make tons of friends

Cons

Lost my life, wife, family, friends and self-esteem. I found that I was a just a pawn in the board and was under pressure all the time. Working hours were terrible
