Pros

I've been here for about a month so I can't comment on career growth or management politics as I haven't been here long enough to get a proper gauge of that. But this is such a great company to work for. The work life balance is great. They keep work at work and give you time to enjoy your life. Benefits are good as well. My team members are great and understanding. You're not micro managed. As long as you do your work, you're good. There's no real hierarchy. Organizationally there is. But when actually working, you can work with your manager, or even work straight with the director. They are currently executing a turnaround strategy. With the moves they've made in recent times, I'd say the first level management is doing a great job by introducing innovative products.

Pros

Large company with plenty of opportunities and great coworkers. Everyone tries to do what is best for the company and the customers. A very noticeable change in the company culture since the company separation in Nov 2015.

Cons

Horrible relationship between HP Inc and Hewlett Packard Enterprise with a lot of bad sentiment between the companies (not the employees). It makes things difficult considering there are legal documents requiring HP to continue doing business with Hewlett Packard Enterprise at a very high cost. Hewlett Packard Enterprise has shown no interest in being a loyal, customer-centric partner. Business teams have little to no budget for new projects or initiatives. All of the funds were taken and devoted to IT. IT has little to no new work as it is being cut to the bare essentials in an effort to shift towards outsourced 3rd parties and contract labor. It is not uncommon to hear areas of IT and the business have been reduced by 30% or more. There is also little to no discretion as to who is impacted. Top rated senior Distinguished Technologist who has been with the company for 15-20 years? Fired. The lead and only person who understands and supports that critical business process? Fired. That person who sits at their desk simply looking at their phone? Oh, you can stay. Very frustrating to say the least. Almost all of the most knowledge, talented individuals I've known have either been laid off and subsequently blacklisted from returning (thanks to HP's workforce reduction policies), or willingly left to seek better opportunities elsewhere. The general feeling across the company is that executive management is attempting to improve profitability simply to find someone who will take it over (buyout, merger, etc.).
