Good but dying company

Pros

- Great set of co-workers. - Pay is in-line with SV area, but they are looking to reduce costs by hiring folks with limited experience. - Most of the products are high quality, stuff you can be proud to work on.

Cons

- No growth plans. The company is poised to shrink 10% a year forever, or until sold-off. - Assume layoffs of 5 to 10% of the organization every year. - Management more interested in politics and appearances than business. - very top heavy, way too many VPs and directors. - The website is embarrassingly bad.

Hi and thank you for your review! We do have amazing people, and thanks for taking a moment to appreciate our benefits, and products. I am bummed to see that you would not recommend HP, especially since you've been here for a while now (congrats on the 10+ years!). ~ Madalina Antohe, Employer brand & digital media leader

Thank you for your review and feedback, although it bums me to hear you do not think we have opportunities for growth internally. We are constantly promoting a culture of growth and development, and are providing different options for personal and professional development, so that you can acquire and develop the skills you need for your future job. You can choose from multiple training options, free books, workshops, learning on the job or you can opt for mentoring. Since you own your career development, you can opt for the best solution for you, discuss it with your manager, and prepare for the next step in your career. ~ Madalina Antohe, Employer Brand and digital media

Pros

Flexible work arrangements make it easier to balance personal and professional life. Strong teamwork culture—most colleagues are collaborative and willing to help. The compensation is competitive, and the company offers a solid tech infrastructure that supports productivity and remote work.

Cons

Job security is a real concern—decisions often prioritize profit over people. Long-term employees with deep experience can be let go without much consideration if cost-cutting is needed. There's been a noticeable shift in leadership, with many new managers unfamiliar with HP’s legacy culture. Depending on the team, this can lead to fresh perspectives—or a disconnect that undermines what once made the company unique.
