Pros

1) Work-life balance is probably the most distinct advantage that an HSBC job has over that of other banks 2) If you are bright, you will stand out - the general population in HSBC is not stellar 3) Global mobility is HUGE in this bank

Cons

1) If you are an accumulator and look upon your job as a way to build assets early in career, FORGET IT. They do not pay like other banks where analysts can potentially gross US$100K plus. 2) You will not be perceived at the brighest out there if you've spent a lot of time in HSBC like for instance you'd be considered if you spent 5-10 years at Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs

Pros

- global bank - pay can be higher that other banks - good experience

Cons

- management from UK makes all decisions - aggressive investment targets. - a lot of former and very upset premier clients being told to deal with a call centre for all dealings. - extreme micromanagement - must exceed all performance targets to get any bonus
