Pros

Management is typically very rational and levelheaded. No off the hip responses to emergencies.

Cons

Below market compensation. Lousy benefits. Poor self-esteem generally amongst employees. Mixture of old school "cheap" hires also dilutes the mental edge in the working environment. Good for retirement.

Pros

Great business environment that encourages interacting between departments as well as countries.

Cons

In terms of IT, an extreme lack of regard by senior management which could be related to the Head Office being in Pacific Time but North America's business sector is based in Eastern Time.

Pros

The pay and benefits were very competitive

Cons

I worked in the consumer finance subsidiary (Beneficial and HFC) as we were struggling to survive. A dying company is not a good place to work. The hours were horrible, and our efforts to save our business unit didn't succeed.
