Pros

Great health and vision insurance. Talented front line employees who want to give quality and maintain integrity. Working on Amazon campus exposes talent to better opportunities on the Amazon side.

Cons

The turnover rate at the Hines Amazon account is the biggest indicator of a poor work environment. The client is recognized by Hines HR as a bully, but Hines Senior Leadership does not protect their employees from the treatment. They will hire senior management and leaders that encourage the bullying, and that will push their workers to the maximum, and beyond, to deliver unrealistic goals to the client so Hines can look good. Diversity and inclusivity is talked about as an important goal, but is sacrificed because they need people quickly, and it would take too long to find talent from more diverse backgrounds. Also, if you’re favored by the Hiring Managers, or if you a part of the typical real estate phenotype, a development path is clear and easy. If you’re not, be prepared to hustle for your worth, salary, and opportunities constantly. The extremely high turnover rate is a symptom of a work environment that thrives as minimizing a work life balance to please the client. Hines will “Get to Yes” for the client, but tells their employees not to “poke the bear” , to be “professionals serving professionals” and to seek outside help for their feelings of burnout. Human Resources offers to meet with employees to hear their concerns, but the overwhelming solution HR puts forth to these burned out employees is that unless there is something illegal going on, HR can’t do anything. Every once in a while, the HR recommendation is to “let things fail” so that attention can be drawn to the issue. On one too many occasions has this happened, only for Hines to blame the employee and scapegoat them to the client. HR is on site to protect Hines, not protect the employees. Don’t recommend working here if you want a life outside of work.

Pros

Working in the Amazon corporate environment is great! Some quality coworkers make the days tolerable

Cons

Working on the Amazon account you can expect to face constantly growing unreasonable demands from the Amazon team, Hines leadership will do nothing but serve as a yes man to the client and provide zero support or protection for their employees. I have myself seen many employees out right bullied in meetings with the client and Hines leadership will never prioritize their own employees over keeping the client happy. Any promotion within Hines will not be based off merit but off social politics. Raises are meager and most rates are well below the standard market salaries. Hines Corporate will do nothing to support your overall goals as an employee or your needs as a human being. Corporate is mostly offsite and the recent addition on site staffing provides zero support to employees and only serves as a watch dog for managers.

Pros

There are no pros to this company.

Cons

This company is well known for underpaying and overworking their employees. They have a habit of only hiring white men. Personally experienced harassment and sexism within the company. It was a complete joke when it came to yearly reviews, a raise or bonus was laughable. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work for this company, as they don't put their employees first. They showed that during the pandemic.
