Pros

Good benefits, education reimbursement. Good starter company for those with no experience looking to get into the industry, not a long term career move.

Cons

Company is not what it proclaims to be, the Socratic idea may be prevalent; however, the implementation is lost by Regional/upper management. No regulation of time spent out of the office by team members, Management speaking badly about others behind closed doors, lack of promotion, promotions awarded only by recommendation of immediate manager (upper management unaware of what actually occurs at the property).

Pros

It is a great opportunity to enter the field and good performance can get you promoted quickly if they have room.

Cons

If you show any desire to move into other areas of the company they will smile and act like it is possible.... Slim chances. IE: educated engineers have virtually no chance of becoming property management.

Pros

Really depends on the office/region. I have an at- to above-market salary, great benefits, bonus, and additional pay. I work normal hours. I'm not micro-managed. But I'm told that others here in other departments are paid below market. Company is privately held and likes it that way. Lots of integrity and loyalty. Nothing shady in any business practices. Good place to come in at junior level for 2 years and have the name on your resume.

Cons

In my particular office, senior management likes to keep people in their respective sandboxes. Once you're in a role, there's little chance of transferring to a different side of the business. Management is bloated with people with 25+ years tenure and old-school ideas. Resistant to change, risk averse. Older managers know all and the younger ones are expected to march in step and do work assigned to them. Managing Directors are like equity partners, so they only care that you bust your a*s so they can make money. Very little opportunity for promotion in development/investment unless you are Ivy league MBA with pedigree (they LOVE pedigree). And if you're a woman? Forget it. There are hardly any women in management roles outside of HR or accounting. Highest company executives are an old boys club who have known each other for 35 years. Inner circle, no one else allowed -it's an aristocracy.
