      Lack of communication and last minute urgent requests from parent company in Paris cause undue stress and overtime for many departments

      They pay employees well. A large corporation that moves slow. Too many managers afraid to make changes or suggest changes to improve business.

      Decent job, but it is very stressful.

      Pros

      Management compensation is very competitive. Benefits are excellent for management and 401k match is currently(2010) 75%. Lafarge is a global company, willing to relocate valuable personnel.

      Cons

      Mining is stressful and the current top-down business approach from France is strangling the life out of all workers, both salaried and hourly.
