Pros
- There will always be an interesting project to work on with engineers who are genuinely excited to innovate - Pension is very competitive - Life insurance is very comprehensive - Decent budget for providing tech for engineers (Latest Macbook Pro, 4k monitors, keyboard, standing desk etc.) - Moving across departments to work on different areas of the company is fairly easy and accessible
Cons
- Salary is below average for the role - Deadlines often are infeasible for the amount of work needed to be done - Moving up in the company is fairly difficult, there is a long lived culture of "do the job for at least a year to prove you can do it, then we'll think about promoting you", which causes a huge backlog of engineers waiting for promotions.
