Great learning opportunity; Little growth expectations
Pros
IBM is an international giant with more than a century of experience and it shows. It has the infraestructure to provide lots of learning resources. It also has very competitive salaries and benefits. It's a great place to settlein if you want a rock steady employer.
Cons
There is a lot of learning opportunities but very few chances to apply it. It's hard to push new technologies to be implemented because the client pressure is always up and getting a promotion is difficult to the point where it becomes easier to move to a another job and get rehired in a higher position later. There is also a lot of the baggage and bureaucracy that comes with huge and old companies. For example, they started implementing a back to office mandate. Which affects all of the workers they hired during the pandemic that might need to relocate to a really expensive city like Guadalajara. In Guadalajara the company site is located way outside of the city. Meaning you waste up to 2 and a half hours commuting to and from the office. Mandating to go back and reducing the worker's quality of life is a completely tone-deaf move by an administration that clearly doesn't have the workers well being in mind.
